Tadashi Shoji Brand Ambassador, Leon Talbot, reflects on the femininity of the Spring Collection:
While Tadashi often takes us along with him on his seasonal nomadic adventures, Spring 2016 feels like a very personal reflective one for him. Tadashi literally went home to Japan and I for one am happy to go with him as I have never been to the Far East. As a result we can journey through wondrous gardens that bring into focus feminine light touches of cascading wisteria vines, cherry blossoms, and an abundance of irises along with peonies. Elements of romanticism, history and modernity serve as cornerstones of the collection and coexist harmoniously.
Separates lend a soft and unique edge while remaining familiar.
I love this peony embroidered tulle bomber jacket paired with a languid tulle skirt as they subvert the notion of just any functional bomber jacket and maxi skirt. These separates can readily be incorporated into your preexisting wardrobe elevating daytime and work looks.
Another gown that I know you will make a grand entrance in this season is this ivory/black peony motif embroidered v-neck tulle gown with contrasting obi belt.
It nods to the past while forging softly ahead into the future.
This season eyelet makes a formidable entrance onto the collection. The fabric is ever so easy and delicate while enhanced in appearance by the use of kumiko motif embroidery.
Eyelet creates exciting day to night dressing options.
Let’s swipe to the right in this look! Bohemian chic meets the perfect amount of flirtation for that next Tinder date-wink wink.
This evening blue wisteria motif tulle midi dress will garner attention while charming that special someone.
DARE to BARE!
The shoulder is quickly becoming a focal point to highlight this season. Appeal has no boundaries when eyelet is fashioned in this off the shoulder tiered matelassé gown.
Tadashi woos us with sheer fabrics coupled with delicate blossom appliques.
This hand-cut tulle illusion Magnolia gown with plunging neckline continues to inspire and lend sensuous appeal to the brand. It ensures that delicate extras will be favorites of this Red Carpet season!
Witnessing Tadashi pay homage to Japanese traditions in such a reimagined, creative, slightly nuanced manner reminded me that the past can be celebrated and revered in a new fashion. Spring ‘16 is a testament that “home” is a state of mind. Tadashi is clearly comfortable and at ease making his in both the East and the West! I hope that wearing feminine selections from this season will evoke a sense of beauty and “home” for you.
